Get this working without the screen in the first place. You should be able to collect boot messages on a laptop using Putty or a similar terminal program. This usually involves editing cmdline.txt to make sure there is a serial console ( console=serial0,115200) and there's no quiet parameter. I suggest you get a USB to UART dongle and set up your RPi to produce boot messages to serial port. # Additional overlays and parameters are documented /boot/overlays/README # Uncomment this to enable the lirc-rpi module # Uncomment some or all of these to enable the optional hardware interfaces # uncomment to increase signal to HDMI, if you have interference, blanking, or
# uncomment to force a HDMI mode rather than DVI. # uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA) # uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output By default it will be display's size minus # goes off screen, and negative if there is too much border # uncomment the following to adjust overscan. # and your display can output without overscan # uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible I have followed elecrow's tutorial and updated the 'config.txt' but still no luck: # uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode Where am I going wrong? I need some assistance. I have followed this tutorial by waveshare for the reference.
When I boot the raspberry pi, a rainbow splash screen appears followed by black screen and it remain stuck over there. I have mounted SD card and changed config.txt file in /boot/config/firmware folder and added following entries. I am trying to set display of raspberry pi model B+ to 5 inch touch screen.
